Lancashire Holdings Ltd. [51279] is eyeing new business from the Asia-Pacific region with the expansion of its Middle East marketing unit, Lancashire Marketing Services (Middle East) Ltd.
The Dubai-based subsidiary will be looking into marketing opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region. Lancashire Middle East Chief Executive Giles Hussey will lead the company's marketing activity in Asia.
"We are well-positioned to extend our marketing reach into Asia, particularly to the dynamic Singapore hub of specialist brokers," said Alex Maloney, group chief underwriting officer of Lancashire, in a statement.
Asia has a well-established insurance and reinsurance market, said Maloney. Lancashire will be exploring opportunities, supported by what he described as the company's significant capacity.
With underwriting operations in Bermuda and London and marketing operations in Dubai, Lancashire focuses on short-tail, speciality property insurance. Its four main business areas are aviation, energy, marine and property.
