Zurich's General Insurance business segment today announced that James Enelow has been appointed leader of Zurich's Global Financial Lines practice. In his new role, Enelow will be responsible for aligning underwriting strategies and driving profitable growth from a portfolio-wide perspective. He replaces Vincent Vandendael, who moves to the position of chief underwriting officer for Zurich Global Corporate Asia Pacific. Enelow will be based in New York and will report to Steve Wilson, head of Global Specialties.
Zurich's Financial Lines practice provides management liability, errors & omissions and crime coverages for commercial, financial institution and private equity customers throughout its business divisions globally.
"Jim has a strong track record, an acute sense of customers' needs in Financial Lines and a strong background in global leadership," said John Amore, CEO of General Insurance for Zurich. "His many years of international experience and leadership will be a powerful complement to our existing Financial Lines capabilities."
Enelow comes to Zurich from Marsh, Inc., where he has more than 20 years of experience in New York and London-based leadership roles. His most recent positions at Marsh were global practice leader of Marsh Industry Practices, chairman of its Global Specialty and Risk Practices and leader of its FINPRO European business. He also served on Marsh's Board of Directors and executive committee.
Enelow graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Hobart College in Geneva, N.Y.
