Six federal agencies are holding an export event in Miami aimed at helping South Florida small businesses expand their sales abroad.
Sponsoring the half-day seminar are the Export-Import Bank of the United States, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Small Business Administration, the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, the Overseas Private Investment Corp. and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
U.S. Rep. Ron Klein, whose district covers parts of Broward and Palm Beach counties, as well as Carol Browner, director of the White House's Office of Energy and Climate Change Policy, are among the speakers. The event will also feature Q&A sessions with small business exporters who have used government assistance to boost overseas revenue. Speakers will discuss federal export services and provide one-on-one trade counseling to businesses.
The ``Exports Live! Real Deals, Real Profits'' seminar will take place Monday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Conrad, 1395 Brickell Ave. To register, visit www.export.gov/exports_live or call 888-966-2009.
