Barney & Barney Associates Rise to the Top

A specialty business publication has singled out two insurance brokers from Barney & Barney LLC as tops in their field, the insurance firm said March 4.
Risk & Insurance magazine calls them Power Brokers.
The winners are principal Mike Milligan and practice group director Robyn Thaw.
The magazine singled out Milligan as a “young gun.” After graduating from the University of San Diego in 2000, Milligan went to work in Barney & Barney’s life science practice, which has grown from seven to 200 Southern California clients in nine years.
Thaw, who has 30 years of industry experience, set up Barney & Barney’s community associations practice, specializing in insurance for homeowners associations and similar organizations.
Risk & Insurance magazine evaluated brokers primarily on their creativity in solving risk-related problems during 2009, as well as their level of client service and demonstrated industry knowledge. Pennsylvania-based LRP Publications publishes the magazine.
