HCC Insurance Q1 net earnings down

HCC Insurance has reported net earnings of $71.35 million, or $0.62 per share, for the first quarter ended March 31, 2010, compared to $83.17 million, or $0.73 per share, for the same quarter of 2009.

Total revenues for the first quarter of 2010 were $594.26 million, compared to $600.74 million for the same quarter of 2009.

Total assets as of March 31, 2010 were $8.87 billion, compared to $8.83 billion as of December 31, 2009.
