House airing for financial services reform

Australian Financial Services Minister Chris Bowen has briefed federal parliament on planned reforms for the sector. A major change will be the banning of commissions paid to financial planners by product providers, while accountants will also need to gain a financial services licence in order to give investment advice. Life insurance policies may not be covered by the ban on commissions.
