2 November 2010 - S&P on Monday changed to "positive" from "negative" its rating outlook on Alico Japan, mimicking the same action it took on the parent, US-based American Life Insurance Company (Alico).
The agency believes Alico will become a core unit of the Metropolitan Life Insurance group (MetLife) upon its successful integration with MetLife in the next year and a half, which will bring Alico's rating to the group level of AA-.
The service also affirmed the A+ financial strength rating of Alico Japan and subsequently removed the rating at the company's request.
