British Auto Insurer, Bringing Jobs 40-50 The original locat

Admiral Americas and plans to employ 40-50 people by the end of the third quarter of 2009 and a projected 200 by the end of his second year here.
"It is our U.S. headquarters," said Andrew Rose, Admiral American President and CEO. "All the infrastructure for the organization will be based in Richmond for the foreseeable future."
Admiral is actively recruiting employees and has a particular interest in new workers displaced in the region.
"There's such good talent in the community now," says Rose. "We hope to take advantage of this to give people job opportunities."
The admiral is looking for information technology, human resources, finance, operations and marketing, he says.
"We are in full recruitment mode," says Rose. "We're creating a business from scratch."
Greater Richmond Partnership Admiral U.S. announced the decision to locate its direct-to-consumer auto insurer in the operations center of the Richmond area yesterday.
The company leases 26,000 square feet of space vacant in the county of Henrico Innsbrook area, "said Rose.
Admiral Americas is a subsidiary of Admiral Group PLC, the UK's third-largest auto insurer. It aims also to its customers who have traditionally struggled to find cheaper insurance.
"The expansion in the United States has been a part of our long-term growth plans, the timing is right and Richmond looks to the right place," Henry Engelhardt, Admiral Group Chief Executive Officer, said in a statement.
Within six months, competition, Admiral also examined the location of its headquarters in Charlotte, Dallas and Chicago, "said Rose.
In making its decision on the location, the company took into account factors such as cost of living, work force availability and the business climate, "he says.
Besides the fact that it has promoted Richmond, Rose also cited the Greater Richmond Partnership efforts of the Richmond area to Admiral boot and Virginia Department of Business Assistance in the selection of the region.
