EMB, a property and casualty (P & C) consulting firm, todayannounced that a number of its consultants presentations onpredictive modeling, use of insurance and product development at the First Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) and tariff Productmanagement Seminar held March 9 - 11 in Las Vegas, Nevada.Managing Director Tom Hettinger is the chairman of the seminar, which will be the best seminar CAS history.
A number of critical issues and best practices in P & C insuranceindustry will be discussed, including the following sessions EMBwill that participate in the three-day seminar:
Duncan Anderson, Partner, will lead a session entitled "PredictiveModeling - GLM III." Further improvements will be discussed includetechniques for modeling large claims, validationapproaches practical, and specific issues that arise in modeling price demandelasticity with GLMs , which is of particular importance whenundertaking price optimization analysis.
Robin Harbage, C-Consultant Council, will be an expert in thesession, "Use of implementation on the basis of automobile insurance as SegmentationTool. This session focuses on insurance issues facing launching the program and how to develop high rates of quantitative information that can be collected from monitoring devices.
Geoffrey Werner, CEO, will participate in a session onConversion and Retention Modeling. This session will cover the use of multivariate techniques to study and predict the outcome of such rates asresponse, assured the maintenance and new businesses conversion.The panel will focus on the benefits and applications modelingcustomer response, tying at a high level, with priceoptimization techniques.
Serhat Guven, Senior Consultant, will participate in a roundtable in asession entitled "Management of High-Dimensional Variables." Thissession discuss special techniques for handling high dimensionalvariables, with a focus on the boundaries of analysis, vehiclesymboling and workers' compensation classes.
David Otto, Managing Director, and Brett Nunes, Senior Consultant, will be members of the special session, "Maximizing the value ofPredictive Modeling." This session is designed to provideparticipants with an understanding of the essential activities required to achieve a desired future state vision theorganizational that maximizes the value of predictive modeling in the context ofratemaking and underwriting.
Robin Harbage is also an expert in the session ", Optimizationfor the U.S. Market: Introduction and basic principles." Thissession introduce optimization techniques and discuss price thetechnical foundation for an effective approach to price optimization. Itwill cover items such as general data and modeling techniques as well as how to approach and sell senior management on the benefits of priceoptimization.

Thissession will focus on technical aspects of price optimization, carefully, on the steps to for determining a set of optimized ratesand also examines the means by which insurers can use to implement theseoptimized yield rate of the USmarket.
David Otto will also participate in a panel discussion on "Innovationsin Commercial Auto Insurance." This session examines the problems faced by two leaders in this market during the product development and plans.Usage insurance rates will be discussed.
