LACEY TOWNSHIP, N.J., June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Teachers' Insurance Plan of NJ awarded two graduating seniors from Lacey Township High School $1,000 scholarships as part of the auto insurer's "Quotes for Cash" program, a unique school fundraising initiative championed by Teachers' Insurance Plan of NJ. Graduating seniors from participating Quotes for Cash districts are able to apply for the annual scholarships the company funds.
Patrick Maguire and Stephanie Cooke each received the scholarship award from Teachers' Insurance. They were among five statewide winners elected from a pool of 67 applicants. Teachers' Insurance is pleased to have active Quotes for Cash campaigns in 61 schools and districts across the state. The 67 applicants represented 21 High Schools in these partner districts.
"On behalf of the entire company I want to congratulate both Patrick and Stephanie," stated Marc Buro, President of Teachers Auto Insurance Company of New Jersey. "Their qualifications were outstanding and they are wonderful representatives of the Lacy Township district," he added.
The Lacey Township school district joined the Quotes for Cash program late in the school year. From the beginning, the level of partnership between the district and the company has been strong.
"I couldn't be more pleased that our relatively new relationship with Teachers' Insurance has already begun to pay dividends," commented Joyce Rager, Lacey's Guidance Department Chairperson. "In addition to our employees saving hundreds on their auto insurance, our students have been able to take full advantage of the company's program benefits - even though we just signed up," continued Rager.
"Our mission is to be more than just an insurance company doing business in the education marketplace. We strive to develop long lasting partnerships with schools and school districts across the state and to help support educators achieve their mission," stated Buro. "Innovative programs like our Quotes for Cash campaigns can help provide fundraising assistance to school districts while also providing grant and scholarship opportunities to teachers and students in participating districts," Buro said.
About Quotes for Cash
Through Quotes for Cash, money is donated into a fund each time a school employee of a participating school or district receives a quote on New Jersey auto insurance with Teachers' Insurance Plan of NJ. For districts that are involved, there is an additional component that includes scholarships and grants. Since its inception in 2007, the program has generated more than $50,000 for local schools. For more information about Quotes for Cash, contact Joseph Sansotta at 732-978-6420.
Teachers Auto Insurance Company of New Jersey provides auto insurance exclusively to the faculty and staff (active and retired) of New Jersey licensed educational facilities. Studies show that educators as a group are lower risk and have fewer claims, so Teachers' Insurance Plan of NJ can offer lower rates than insurance companies who insure everybody.
