The Progressive Corporation Announces Investor Relations Conference Call

As previously announced, The Progressive Corporation will host a one-hour conference call on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, beginning at 9:00 a.m. eastern time. On August 10, 2009, Progressive expects to file its Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q with the Securities and Exchange Commission and post its second quarter 2009 Shareholders' Report, including the Letter to Shareholders from its President and CEO, Glenn Renwick, to its Web site at www.progressive.com/annualreport. Under Progressive's conference call format, management will not make detailed comments in addition to these published reports, but will respond to questions at that time.
Simultaneous broadcasts of the conference call will be provided by phone and online. To register for the conference call and receive the necessary call-in and webcast details, visit Progressive's Web site at http://investors.progressive.com/events.aspx. Participants via the webcast will be in a listen-only format and, therefore, will not be able to submit questions.
The webcast is also being distributed through the Thomson StreetEvents Network to both institutional and individual investors. Individual investors can listen to the call at www.earnings.com, Thomson/CCBN's individual investor portal, powered by StreetEvents. Institutional investors can access the call via Thomson's password-protected event management site, StreetEvents (www.streetevents.com).
Replays of the conference call, both through the webcast and by phone, will be available approximately one hour after the call concludes. The archived webcast will be able to be accessed from Progressive's Web site at http://investors.progressive.com/archive.aspx and will remain available until August 13, 2010.
