ScotiaLife Financial announced today it is offering a full range of home and auto insurance products and services.

Effective immediately, customers can call 1-866-989-4755 to receive a quote on products and services covering vehicles, including motorhomes and snowmobiles, as well as homes, condominiums and the personal property of renters.

"ScotiaLife Financial products and services are affordable and convenient and we are committed to delivering a superior customer experience," said Mark Cummings, Senior-Vice President and Head, Insurance Canada, Scotiabank. Effective August 17, customers will be able to go on-line at www.scotialifefinancial.com to obtain an insurance quote - part of ScotiaLife Financial's new and improved Web experience.

"The launch of our new home and auto insurance products underscores ScotiaLife Financial's commitment to expanding our offering to ensure we are providing Canadians with comprehensive solutions for their insurance needs," Mr. Cummings added.

Today's announcement builds on a solid foundation of products, services and expertise currently provided by ScotiaLife Financial - Scotiabank's Canadian insurance brand - which includes comprehensive life and health, creditor and travel insurance.

Earlier this year, ScotiaLife Financial announced the launch of a new term product, ScotiaLife Term 1 Insurance, which provides Scotiabank customers the opportunity to obtain flexible, affordable group insurance coverage ranging from $50,000 to $1 million. "We will soon be announcing additions to our life and health insurance product suite to provide even greater choice for our customers," Mr. Cummings said.

Scotiabank is one of North America's premier financial institutions and Canada's most international bank. With close to 69,000 employees, Scotiabank Group and its affiliates serve approximately 12.8 million customers in some 50 countries around the world. Scotiabank offers a diverse range of products and services including personal, commercial, corporate and investment banking. With more than $513 billion in assets (as at April 30, 2009), Scotiabank trades on the Toronto (BNS) and New York Exchanges (BNS). For more information please visit www.scotiabank.com.
