Upon retirement from Bell Endurance Specialty

PEMBROKE, Bermuda, March 24, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. (NYSE:ENH - News), a Bermuda-based specialty provider of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, today announced that Thomas D. Bell will be retiring from his position as Executive Vice President of Compliance, effective June 1, 2009. Mr. Bell joined Endurance in December 2001 as one of the founding members of the company and, during his time with Endurance, served in a number of key roles including Executive Vice President of Reinsurance Operations and President of Endurance Specialty Insurance Ltd. Prior to joining Endurance, Mr. Bell spent 21 years at American Re Corporation in various underwriting, marketing and management roles culminating as Senior Vice President responsible for the Regional Middle Markets Marketing Group. Mr. Bell's current responsibilities will be assumed by other members of Endurance's executive team.
