Allstate to Re-enter Massachusetts Auto Insurance Market

NORTHBROOK, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Allstate Insurance Company (NYSE:ALL - News) today filed rates and policy forms with the Massachusetts Division of Insurance to re-enter the Massachusetts auto insurance market. The move marks Allstate’s return to the Bay State after a long hiatus. Allstate has targeted November 2, 2009 as its “open-for-business” date.
Massachusetts auto insurance customers will have the opportunity to select from Allstate’s innovative Your Choice Auto® suite of auto insurance products. Your Choice Auto® offers consumers a wide spectrum of coverages and prices to fit their needs.
Massachusetts policymakers have recently adopted positive changes that make the insurance market more competitive. The recent changes set a new direction, giving insurers greater flexibility in how they serve customers and compete for business in the market.

Massachusetts consumers will have the option of contacting one of Allstate’s participating exclusive agencies in Connecticut, New Hampshire and Rhode Island, calling 1-800-ALLSTATE or visiting Allstate.com to purchase Allstate auto insurance.
