The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) has called for a review of Victoria's fire services funding model. The ICA said premium increases introduced in September 2009 reflected the high proportion of Victorians who do not contribute to fire services. Under the changes, the fire services levy on rural properties will rise from 26% to 31%, while business premiums will rise from 68% to 84%.
