Mar. 6--An Orlando man accused of running a Medicare fraud scheme in Tampa was sentenced to more than five years in federal prison Thursday. Yosdan Castellanos, 28, also was ordered to pay about $738,000 in restitution to the Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. Castellanos pleaded guilty to one count of health-care fraud in October. He was the owner and president of Florida Med Services, which purported to be in the business of providing medical equipment such as ventilators to Medicare beneficiaries, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. The company maintained a fake storefront on West Waters Avenue in Tampa, and from 2005 to 2006, submitted false and fraudulent claims to Medicare for equipment, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
