Kansas Governor Signs Bill Granting Health Insurance To The

Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius signed a bill that will let people keep their health insurance, even if they lose their jobs, House Bill 2052 reached U.S. Recovery Act funds to help keep their health care kansan up 'in 2010. Kansas Some employees who have involuntarily lost their jobs since September 1, 2008, can take advantage of the recovery and reinvestment U.S. law passed by Congress in February, which pays up to 65 percent of the cost of the COBRA health insurance benefits to workers laid off for up to nine months.
"Our economy will never be as strong as it can be if we do not address the burden that health care costs on businesses, workers and families," said Sebelius. "That's why this part of the recovery and reinvestment American law is essential to get our economy back on track. "
"This will allow the continuation of health insurance for many possible kansan that otherwise might not be able to afford it," said Kansas Insurance Commissioner Sandy Praeger.
"Reducing the costs of COBRA coverage will help to keep Kansas families insured by these difficult economic times. We know that insured children to receive preventive care and the lowest long-term health costs," said the treasurer of the State Dennis McKinney. "This will also benefit Kansas doctors and clinics because they have fewer accounts.
