Verisk Health's D2Explorer Product Helps Benefit-Management Company Cut Cost

Verisk Health, Inc., a global provider of healthcare data analytics, announced that Core Management Resource Group (CMRG), a benefit-management company for self-funded health insurance programs, successfully implemented care management interventions and individual health risk assessments using Verisk Health's D2Explorer and achieved 12 percent healthcare cost savings for one of its employer group clients.

In a release, the Company noted that using D2Explorer, a web-native analytics software solution, CMRG was able to analyze its medical and pharmacy data to identify, educate, and coach individuals within its population in need of care management interventions. Through these programs, CMRG successfully improved healthcare quality and, in turn, provided cost savings for its employer group clients.

"Verisk Health's D2Explorer solution has streamlined our care management process, allowing us to quickly identify patients in need of medical interventions," said Tom Wagoner, CEO of CMRG. "The success of our programs has helped our clients greatly reduce healthcare costs, while improving wellness and the quality of care available to their members."

The Company added that the clinical intelligence and predictive modeling within the D2Explorer solution allowed CMRG to achieve notable results for many of its clients, including an 18-percent drop in the number of diabetics/pre-diabetics over three years, a decreased number of emergency room visits and inpatient admissions, a lower per member/per year cost trend for certain disease states, and a 12 percent reduction in total healthcare costs.
