CIGNA & CMC Life Enters China's Health Insurance Market

Sino-US life insurer CIGNA & CMC Life Insurance Co., Ltd. launched a comprehensive health insurance product in China days ago.
It is the first health insurance product the 50-50 joint venture between US-based CIGNA Corp. and China Merchants Group rolled out in the market and marks the insurer's formal entry into the domestic health insurance sector.
It is a product launched to aim at the high-end medical care insurance market and its potential consumers include multinational companies that expect to buy group insurance for non-local employees, multinational companies that want to buy health insurance for non-local employees employed locally, employees employed after going back from abroad and senior executive employed locally, and Chinese companies that plan to buy group insurance for employees working overseas. Consumers could enjoy medical care service from the international medical system and doctors via the insurer's international medical care and health network after buying the product.
