Atos Origin wins Renault contract

French IT services company Atos Origin has won a three-year contract from automobile manufacturer Renault covering applications related to vehicle design, manufacturing, sales and corporate functions.
The agreement follows a contract signed in 2005 for which Atos achieved all of its service quality, process standardization and cost reduction targets. Under the new contract, France-based Renault has extended Atos' mission to include owner-operator support services.
Francois Gitton, CIO at Renault, said: "Atos has demonstrated its ability to provide quality services on time and on budget. We will continue this partnership and are counting on Atos to take our IT systems to an even higher level, in our drive for competitive advantage. We will need to be even more proactive and continue to reduce our costs."
The deal follows Atos' contracts earlier this month with Netherlands-based health insurance provider Unive-VGZ-IZA-Trias to provide server management services, $159m contract from the Home Office and UK Border Agency to provide IT services to 24,000 users, and five-year outsourcing contract renewal from integral lighting solutions provider Zumtobel Group to manage its entire IT infrastructure across Europe.
