WASHINGTON-Medical insurance cons faults trade groups said they are preparing to fight a proposal to revoke the antitrust exemption, they are now afforded under the McCarran-Ferguson Act law.

The Senate Democratic leader ship said they are looking to change insurers, medical practice and the repeal of the exemption for health insurers.

Lawrence E. Smarr, president of the Physician Insurers Association of America, based in Rockville, Md., said that the comments of President Obama support the repeal in his weekly address that Saturday is the confirmation of the industry believes that the Senate plans of act on the measure.
