Should I purchase Rental Car Insurance?

It really depends on your personal car insurance policy. Some auto insurance policies cover rental vehicles.  You'll need to contact your car insurance agent or read your policy details to ensure a rental car is covered.


If your personal car insurance doesn't cover rental vehicles then yes you should purchase the additional rental car insurance. 

Some credit card companies will automatically provide insurance when you use them to rent a vehicle, but you must know the “details” of the policy. Check with your credit card provider for more information.

If you don’t have insurance provided for the rental vehicle, it is advised that you purchase it.
