On Feb. 4, more than 1,000 dental professionals and community volunteers will begin setting up approximately 800 chairs, 90 portable dental chairs and dental equipment at the Tulsa Convention Center arena. The free, two-day dental clinic is hosted by Oklahoma Mission of Mercy and will be fully functional, including the following services: cleanings, fillings, extractions, restorations, pediatric hygiene and root canals. Event organizers said they expect to serve 1,600 on a first-come, first-serve basis Feb. 5-6.

The opening ceremony for the event will include remarks from Oklahoma Lt. Gov. Jari Askins and Mayor Dewey Bartlett. Rieger Wood, president of the Oklahoma Dental Association and chair of Mission of Mercy, and John Gladden, president and CEO of Delta Dental of Oklahoma, will also be present.
