Carlyle Covets Chinese Featured Pharmaceutical Sector

The Carlyle Group, a private global investment firm, now is interested in the characteristic pharmaceutical companies in the product research and development (R & D) and sales channels.
The investment giant was said to take part in the twenty-second national conference of pharmaceutical economic information sponsored by the Southern Medical Economic Institute of State Food and Drug Administration of China from October 29 to 30. In addition, people close to the matter disclosed that a fund under Carlyle to specialize in investing in high-growth enterprises in Asia had set up a panel responsible for seeking investment opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry.
Insiders pointed out that the Chinese pharmaceutical market scale hits about CNY 400 billion to CNY 500 billion, keeping stable and sustainable. Compared with developed countries such as the US, the Chinese pharmaceutical industry will witness a golden era of fast development in the future 10 to 20 years.
