Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida Completes Acquisition of Florida Health Care Plans JACKSONVILLE, Florida, January 5
JACKSONVILLE, Florida, January 5 / PRNewswire / - Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, Inc. (BCBSF) has completed its acquisition of Florida Health Care Plan, Inc (FHCP) Halifax Hospital Medical Center (HHMC). FHCP function as a community-based, locally managed, HMO subsidiary of BCBSF, serving Volusia and Flagler counties.


FHCP is a success, high quality, staff and the mixed model of health care with 53,000 members consisting of large and small employer group plans, Medicare Advantage Part D Plans and the Cover Florida Plan, 300 physicians, 60 employees doctors, 12 health centers and eight pharmacies in Volusia and Flagler counties.

As a subsidiary of BCBSF, FHCP provide services to those who benefit from health care coverage in Florida Access Program Volusia and Flagler counties. BCBSF will provide coverage in Florida the rest of the state as the state one of two participants.
