MIB Life Index Reports North American business of life insur

Braintree, MA. - (March 10, 2009) - North American application activity of life insurance purchased independently increased by 1.1% in February, compared to last year, according to the MIB Life Index?. Application of activity from January to February 2009 was 12.9%. Year-to-date (YTD), in North America is off -1.7% compared to the same two months last year. U.S. application activity was up 1.0% in February compared to last year, all ages. Application volume for persons ages 45-59 years and 60 + increased by 3.9% and 14.9% respectively, over the years while the age of 0-44 were 2.9% in February. Application Activity -1.6% off all ages year-to-day. Canadian demand increased by 1.6% in February year to all ages. By age group, Canada requests that reflect the activity in the United States demand volumes for persons ages 45-59 years and 60 + increased by 6.2% and 12.5% respectively, compared the year, while ages 0-44 were off -2.0% in February. Activity in February was up 29.2% compared to before January, showing growth of 19-20% of the characteristic of this period. Year-to-date, the application is -2.3% off all ages.
