What: The Actuary Is In: The American Academy of Actuaries will host a press-only luncheon briefing to discuss actuarial considerations and other issues related to health care reform.

It is more important than ever to understand which health care reform provisions are most important when evaluating a proposal's prospects for leading to viable and sustainable health insurance reform. During the briefing, the American Academy of Actuaries senior health fellow will explain such issues and identify objectives for viable health care reform.

Among other issues, the briefing will cover moving to guaranteed issue and premium rating restrictions, implementing an individual mandate, creating a public plan, and addressing rising health costs. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.
