- Transparency helps bolster client confidence about investing
BOSTON, June 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- John Hancock Funds has launched a new, web-based tool called "Portfolio Insight" that allows financial advisers to create detailed analyses of client portfolios and to prepare high-quality, customized reports quickly and efficiently. The result is a comprehensive, transparent view of a client's mutual fund holdings that can help build client confidence by advancing an understanding of their investments and asset allocation.
"If there is one thing that we've learned from the events of the last 12 months, it's that portfolio transparency is more important than ever," said Keith F. Hartstein, President and CEO of John Hancock Funds. "Investors need to know what they own. With this tool, we are able to provide financial advisers with a critical resource that will enable them to generate client reports which provide transparency down to the individual security level."
"Furthermore, we recognize that advisers do business with multiple fund families, and so virtually all funds are available through this tool, not just our own John Hancock funds," he added.
Advisers may select from the universe of open-end funds available through Morningstar(R) in generating the report, which they can then review in detail with their clients.
Portfolio Insight can include a portfolio snapshot summary along with performance analysis for each individual fund as well as the total portfolio, sector and style analysis for the entire portfolio, and information on stock overlap among all holdings. In addition, economic and portfolio manager commentary are available.
"While you can go deep into the portfolio information, it's the ease of use that really makes this tool compelling," said Carey Foran Hoch, Senior Vice President and head of Marketing for John Hancock Funds. "In just minutes, financial advisers can create customized reports for clients with information and insights that help differentiate them, while helping the client understand what they own and if they are on track."
Portfolio Insight is available to advisers on John Hancock Funds' award-winning web site, www.jhfunds.com. John Hancock has launched a significant print and electronic marketing campaign in support of the new web tool; blast emails and an attention-getting direct mail program to inform and educate advisers commenced in early June.
