VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 07/08/09 -- WebTech Wireless Inc. (TSX: WEW), a leading provider of location-based and fleet telematics services, announces that it has received a purchase order for 5,000 model WT5000 Locators(TM) from Prolog S.A. (Prolog), WebTech Wireless' Mexican distributor. These devices are primarily destined for Grupo Nacional Provincial S.A.B. (GNP), one of Mexico's largest insurance companies, and will be marketed by the insurer through their Angel Naranja auto insurance program. Prolog's subsidiary, WebTrack S.A., will configure the devices to GNP's specifications, provide installation, call centre and support services. The sale follows the completion of a successful pilot with GNP announced in March and the subsequent installation of approximately two thousand devices under the GNP program with a prominent Japanese auto manufacturer.

WebTech Wireless' advanced in-vehicle WT5000 Locator(TM), and recently released WT7000 Locator(TM) GPS devices, are finding considerable acceptance with auto insurers in many markets for use in vehicle location and tracking as well as in more innovative applications such as technology enabled, usage based insurance models. In Mexico, where vehicle theft is a major concern, GNP has already experienced an unprecedented 100% stolen vehicle recovery rate with the use of the WebTech Wireless Locators.

Commenting on the sale, Juan Avila, Executive Chairman & Chief Technology Officer for Prolog said, "This purchase of 5,000 Locators will allow us to maintain adequate inventory levels to fulfil the short-term demand being generated by GNP's Angel Naranja program as well as other customers. Installations are continuing with one major vehicle manufacturer and another truck manufacturer, and we anticipate at least two others coming onboard in the near term."

Edward Kulperger, Senior Director of WebTech Wireless' Personal Automotive and OEM business units added, "We're very pleased with this sale and the work of Prolog. GNP's Angel Naranja program is rolling out well across Mexico and already the response from the marketplace is very encouraging. We fully expect to continue building on this success with future orders. Our experience in Mexico is being applied to several advanced pilots underway with large insurance companies in several markets, and we're working diligently to move these to the rollout stage."

This latest sale underscores WebTech Wireless' commitment to providing custom made solutions for a variety of industries that depend on efficient and effective mobile resource management.
