CNA Financial names new CEO of European operations

CHICAGO_CNA Financial Corp. said Thursday it named John Hennessy as chief executive of the insurer's European operations.

Hennessy has worked for CNA since 1982, when he started his career as an underwriting trainee. The appointment follows the insurer's recently announced plans to grow its international operations.

CNA shares closed up 26 cents at $22.18.
