HARTFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. (NYSE: HIG) announced today that the company has promoted Michael Concannon, 47, to executive vice president of its property and casualty sales and distribution organization, effective immediately. Concannon will report directly to Juan Andrade, president and chief operating officer of The Hartford's property and casualty operations.
The sales role was vacated by Andrade upon his promotion to company president. Concannon was previously senior vice president of the company's personal lines operations.
"Mike is an outstanding business executive with a long-standing commitment to understanding and exceeding the expectations of our distribution partners. In fact, he has been instrumental in developing and expanding our independent agent distribution," said Andrade. "He's a thoughtful, skilled leader who demands excellence and is committed to always improving his business. He's really a great example of the deep bench of talent we have within the P&C leadership team."
An industry veteran with experience in sales, underwriting, product and finance, Concannon joined The Hartford in 1995 working in product management for the personal lines insurance center. He has held several positions with increasing levels of responsibility at The Hartford, including leadership roles in the affinity business unit and product management.
"As a member of our senior leadership team, Mike has been deeply involved in many of our enterprise-wide change initiatives, developing and influencing our overall strategy. This will ensure smooth continuity of our current strategy and values," said Andrade. "In addition to the phenomenal results Mike's been able to achieve in personal lines, his deep understanding of the industry and vigorous drive to compete makes him the perfect partner to work with our agents and brokers as they look to profitably grow their businesses."
Prior to joining The Hartford, Concannon held a number of finance and underwriting management positions at Allstate Insurance Company, E.F. Hutton & Co. and Dean Witter Reynolds.
Concannon earned a B.S. from St. John's University and an M.B.A. from Adelphi University.
