SCHAUMBURG, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Zurich in North America's risk engineering and claims groups today unveiled a micro-Web site providing Zurich customers and distributors with tools and information to help them prepare for, and recover from, wind events in North America. The Zurich HelpPoint Wind site can be found at http://www.zurichna.com/windstorm.
"The Zurich HelpPoint Wind site will reinforce the HelpPoint brand by providing Zurich commercial property-casualty customers and brokers with a single source to help them prepare for, and recover from, wind events," said Armand Fernandez, chief risk engineering officer for Zurich Services Corporation. "Zurich's expertise in disaster preparation and recovery will help customers and distributors minimize wind storm losses."
Jane Tutoki, chief claims officer for Zurich in North America said Zurich's goal behind the site's creation is to provide a collection of information resources for Zurich customers and distributors before, during and after a wind event, including hurricanes, tornadoes and windstorms. According to Tutoki, in addition to Zurich resources on the Web site, it also contains links to the National Hurricane Center and other resources.
"We help our customers take a pragmatic approach to preparation, depending on how imminent the storm is to their location," she said. "We show them which tasks that require little investment of time and expense can be done when the storm is still a couple of days out versus the higher investment tasks that you would do when the storm is about to hit."
