Agenda Announced for A.M. Best?s 2009 Insurance Market Briefing - Canada

A.M. Best Co. will be hosting an Insurance Market Briefing at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, on Thursday, September 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a lunch to follow. There is no charge to attend this event.
Leading A.M. Best analysts will discuss rating trends for the property/casualty, life, reinsurance and captive segments of the Canadian insurance industry.
Attendees will hear A.M. Best?s current perspective on the state of the Canadian insurance market within the context of the global industry. A.M. Best?s rating analysts will discuss the impact of present economic conditions and developing trends on Canadian insurers.
Serge Therrien, president and publisher of Insurance Journal, will host the Life session, which will look at rating trends in the Canadian life insurance market and provide a review of the current outlook and key issues facing this market.
David Gambrill, editor of Canadian Underwriter, will host the Property/Casualty session, which will discuss A.M. Best?s view of the Canadian property/casualty insurance market and provide insight on the current trends and outlook.
Romana King, editor of Canadian Insurance, will host the Reinsurance session, which will focus on the recent performance and financial position of the global property/casualty reinsurance sector and the Canadian market's contribution and position within that sector.
