Senior Market Sales, Inc., a leading life and health insurance brokerage, is pleased to announce it has once again been honored by Inc. Magazine as one of America's fastest-growing private companies. It is the Omaha-based company's second-consecutive appearance on the magazine's prestigious Inc. 5000 list.
Senior Market Sales ranked No. 2,743 on the 2009 list, a 400-spot jump from its 2008 ranking of 3,152. It was also among the top 25 fastest-growing companies in the Insurance industry in both 2008 and 2009.
Rankings were based on revenue growth from 2005 to 2008. Senior Market Sales achieved 105.4 percent revenue growth during that period, easily surpassing the insurance industry's median three-year growth of 11.99 percent, according to Inc.
"Like most companies, we faced our share of challenges in 2008," said Jim Summers, President of Senior Market Sales. "But that only makes this year's Inc. 5000 award more gratifying. The hard work of our employees and their willingness to adapt to change has allowed Senior Market Sales to turn a lot of potential hurdles into opportunities for our company, our partners and our employees."
As a national independent marketing organization (IMO) and proud member of the Annexus Group, Senior Market Sales markets insurance products to independent agents on behalf of companies like Mutual of Omaha, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna and Aetna. The company focuses on products for the senior and Boomer demographics, such as Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage, annuities, long-term care insurance and life insurance.
While it's well-known that the senior market is growing rapidly, Summers says Senior Market Sales owes its success to more than just America's aging population.
"What differentiates Senior Market Sales is our commitment to empowering agents with the knowledge, tools and products to help them leverage their time, make more money and put their business in a position of distinction," Summers said. "That has been a huge factor in our growth and has helped SMS stay ahead of the curve in an ever-changing industry."
