AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah, a provider of automotive, travel, insurance and financial services, has selected IBM to design and build a new data center, to meet its present computing needs, with the ability to scale to meet its future business needs.
IBM has said that it will deploy the data center consolidation with the explicit goals of reducing energy consumption as well as reducing cost, space and IT maintenance, while enhancing the efficiency and capacity of its data center facilities.
The agreement was signed in May 2009, with expected construction completion in December 2009.
Kory Jensen, director of data center services for AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah (AAA NCNU), said: "In a challenging economy, companies are looking for the shortest time to value without sacrificing the quality of the final solution. IBM has been engaged with us from the beginning to better understand our critical business needs and design an appropriate solution. We look forward to working with IBM to design and build an energy efficient facility that can support our dynamic growth plans effectively."
