Burger: Congress Must Act Now on Health Care

Change to Win chair Anna Burger issued the following statement today regarding President Obama's address to Congress on health care reform.
"Tonight, President Obama made the case to fix the broken health care system that has become a tremendous burden on working families and a constant threat to an already fragile economy. Congress must act now by implementing comprehensive health care reform that guarantees all Americans have high quality, affordable coverage.
"The millions of Americans uninsured and underinsured cannot wait. The millions of Americans facing potential bankruptcy from unaffordable medical cost cannot wait. The millions of Americans denied coverage, and the millions facing never-ending cost increases for health insurance cannot wait. America cannot wait - and the congressional majority must not hesitate to act now.
"Right-wing obstructionists have denied working families health care security for generations with distortions, fear and lies. Last Fall Americans voted for change, this Fall Americans are demanding Congress vote for change."
