Crop insurance scheme to be launched soon

Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture Mr. Nazar Muhammad Gondal called on Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani at PM's House here Thursday morning and apprised the Prime Minister regarding the progress on crop insurance scheme
He briefed the Prime Minister on the food situation as well as progress on various initiatives undertaken by the Federal Government for the welfare of the farmers. He informed that under the direction of the Prime Minister, all out efforts are being made to ensure provision of best quality seeds to the farmers so as to increase the per acre yield. He also apprised the Prime Minister regarding the progress on crop insurance scheme, which the government is planning to launch soon.
The Prime Minister said that food security is the foremost priority before the government and every effort should be made towards that end. While appreciating the introduction of best quality seed, the Prime Minister hoped that this would help increase the per acre yield and benefit the growers at large.
