to Push for National Health Insurance Reform
Speaker Nancy Pelosi will be in Philadelphia on Monday September 21 at 11:15 a.m. for a hospital tour and news conference to highlight the urgent need for Congress to pass legislation containing healthcare costs and expanding access to affordable, quality, stable coverage for all Americans.
She will be joined by Philadelphia Reps. Bob Brady, Chaka Fattah, and Allyson Schwartz along with Thomas Jefferson University Hospital officials and doctors and a local small business owner who will share her personal story of the difficulties obtaining affordable health coverage for a son with a pre-existing condition. An Emergency Room doctor will highlight how the cost of treating America's 46 million uninsured and millions more under-insured is like a hidden tax of more than $1,000 on the average American family.
