Electrical fault has been blamed for the fire which completely destroyed one of Apias oldest hotels, renamed Tanoa Tusitala.
Samoa Observer reported today that the fire investigator ruled out foul play.
This was conveyed to the owners of the hotel, Reddy Group, by the deputy Prime Minister, Misa Telefoni.
The fire started in the ceiling of one of the fale and sped down to the mattresses stored on the floor.
The insurance report is now being processed and the reconstruction will begin when insurance payment is received, Telefoni told the Observer.
The Fire and Emergency Services Authority is waiting for a report of the fire from the inspector, Gary Luff.
