BRIEF: Flu shots for seniors Wednesday at Patrick Henry Mall

Seniors looking for a flu shot can head to the Patrick Henry Mall Wednesday for a seasonal flu shot clinic.

The clinic will run from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. for people 60 and older. The shot is for the seasonal flu. The H1N1 vaccination is not yet available.

The shot is free for seniors who have primary medical coverage through Medicare Part B, Aetna, Humana Gold Choice Southeast, SummaCare and Advantage Freedom. Seniors with those plans must bring a picture ID and their insurance card.

For other seniors, the shot is $25, payable by cash or check. A limited number of shots will be available for free to seniors between 60 and 65 who don't have insurance. Call 926-6647 for more information.

The event is hosted by the Peninsula Task Force on Aging in collaboration with Maxim Healthcare Services and Riverside Health System.
