Allentown's roughly 120 nonunion employees may be required to help pay for their health insurance next year.
The employees were informed of the proposed change through a notice sent out with their paychecks Thursday, but a final determination on whether to move ahead with the plan rests with City Council.
Depending on the type and amount of coverage employees select, they would be required to contribute from $32 to $64 each pay period toward their health insurance next year, city officials said.
