IGI is Official Insurer for Trade Fair

Industrial and General Insurance Plc (IGI), has been appointed the exclusive official insurer of the 2009 Lagos International Trade Fair. The appointment follows an agreement between the management of IGI and the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organisers of the annual trade fair.

As the official insurer, IGI is responsible for the insurance of various companies and organisations that participate at the fair. The company is also responsible for the insurance of property at the fair.

Speaking on the development, the IGI Trade Fair Coordinator, Mr Chijioke Ezikpe said IGI offered to be the official insurer of the trade fair because of the company's leading role in the insurance industry in Nigeria, and also because of the status of the Lagos International Trade Fair which attracts exhibitors and visitors both from within and outside Nigeria every year.

"IGI has the capacity and capability to be the official insurer of the fair, and this is what we have done, partnering with LCCI to make this year's fair the best ever," he said.

Meanwhile, in its quest to make insurance services available to Nigerians, IGI has brought its customer-friendly products to the 2009 Trade Fair. Among the products the company is showcasing at the fair are automated and information technology-driven products such as IGI School Fees Insurance Scheme, IGI Mortgage Care Policy, IGI Estate Fire Insurance Scheme, IGI Leasecare Policy, IGI Estate Comprehensive Insurance Scheme, IGI EasiRide Motor Policy and IGI Compulsory Building Insurance Policy.

Other products include IGI Personal and Annuity Plus Plan (PAPP), IGI Integrated Benefits Plan (IBP), IGI Dividend Plus Plan (DPP) as well as an array of IGI Life Insurance Products.

Ezikpe said the products being displayed by IGI have value added features such as "flexibility in policy management, modification of existing policies and ability to make a claim online." He noted that all the products are specially tailored for all existing IGI policyholders and prospective clients.

Customers and visitors to the IGI stand will also get other benefits, including business advisory on insurance cover for oil and energy, marine and aviation and life assurance.

The fair opened November 6 and closes November 15. It usually records a large turnout of exhibitors and visitors daily for the period it lasts.
