MEDecision, Inc., a leading provider of collaborative health care management solutions, today announced that it has been selected to deliver its Alineo ™ 2.0 collaborative health care management platform to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (BCBSKC). The two parties have agreed to begin implementation in June. The arrangement reinforces MEDecision’s position as a leader in the development of technical solutions that meet the changing needs of the reform-driven health care market.
BCBSKC will deploy Alineo 2.0 to manage care for its nearly one million members in greater Kansas City, northwest Missouri and eastern Kansas. In particular, the technology will enable the insurer to better support its popular A Healthier You™ wellness program, which furnishes members with a comprehensive portfolio of health and wellness tools and services that enable them to establish and maintain a healthy lifestyle. The member-focused Alineo 2.0 provides BCBSKC with the type of holistic, 360-degree view of its members necessary for the initiative’s continued growth.
“Working with BCBSKC allows us to demonstrate our commitment to offering technology that meets the changing needs of the market,” said David St.Clair, founder and CEO of MEDecision. “We are pleased that they have selected Alineo for their care management platform, and we look forward to the many things our organizations can accomplish together as we approach new opportunities on the horizon for health care.”
Alineo 2.0 allows health plans to optimize automation and efficiency in the delivery of care management programs while fostering a more member-centric, whole-person approach. It is designed to help maximize the effectiveness of case, disease, population, and utilization management initiatives by simplifying integration with other internal and external medical management systems. As such, Alineo 2.0 provides health plans with a powerful, yet simplified resource that can support business growth by streamlining operations, controlling medical and administrative costs and strengthening business processes while improving the overall quality of care.
“The health care industry is poised for great change, and Alineo is a solution that can easily adapt to meet our needs as we evolve with the market,” said Brian Burns, senior vice president of Health Care Services at BCBSKC. “We were very impressed with its vast capabilities, particularly its ability to provide a complete view of our members’ health histories and to accommodate our long-term growth.”
