Insurance Merger Renders New Financial Services Division

Steve Brooks Insurance Services, based in Westlake Village, and Calabasas-based Tri County Insurance have merged.
However, Eric Bossuk, CEO of the newly merged company was coy about what the firm will be called, citing skittishness in the marketplace as a reason for holding off on a name change.
“The environment we’re operating in is frightening to clients, who are inundated with merger and buy-out information,” Bossuk said. “We are doing our best to let them know that this merger is strictly a result of our desire to continue to provide the best insurance service and options available.”
The two agencies plan to announce a name change in the near future, was the only reference to a name change in a statement released by both Bossuk and Steve Brooks, who will serve as president of the combined entity.
“We’re merging solely for the benefits of our clients,” Brooks said.
To that end, the firm will add financial services division, which will sell health, life, disability and retirement products to clients.
