Encino Insurance Broker Pushes South

GNW-Evergreen Insurance Services, an Encino-based broker, said Aug. 25 that it signed a deal to acquire the assets of Plenary Insurance Services for undisclosed terms.

As part of the deal, GNW-Evergreen took on Plenary’s San Diego office with three employees as well as an Orange County office with eight employees.

Plenary is a subsidiary of Employers Direct of Agoura Hills. GNW-Evergreen also acquired renewal rights for directly placed workers’ compensation insurance policies of Employers Direct.

Andrew Forchelli, partner and chief operating officer for GNW-Evergreen, said he hopes to increase its presence in San Diego and Orange counties.

The firm targets clients with revenue between $25 million and $1 billion.
