Edgewood Partners Insurance Center, a retail property, casualty and employee benefits insurance brokerage, has added Cheryl Downey as a Senior Vice President in its San Ramon-based Programs Group.
According to a release, Downey will continue to focus on the risk management and insurance needs of the pizza restaurant business as a part of the EPIC Programs Group, including the acquisition of new clients and expanding the Programs Group's hospitality industry resources.
"We are very pleased to welcome another professional of Cheryl's caliber to our firm," said Seth Madnick, Managing Principal of EPIC's Programs Group. "We have admired her work for many years. Cheryl's knowledge of the pizza restaurant business and her leadership in creating innovative, cost effective group insurance programs make her an outstanding addition to our team. To have the country's most successful pizza restaurant insurance program and our own highly successful McDonald's restaurant insurance program under the same roof gives EPIC a significant competitive and marketplace advantage."
Prior to joining EPIC, Downey was a founder of Summit Risk Management where she developed a risk management system that enabled pizza restaurants to buy delivery insurance in the standard market. Summit later merged with HRH and Willis Insurance Services.
