Clive Levinthal, the head of life insurance at Clearview Retirement Solutions, says the insurance sector has taken good steps toward combating underinsurance in recent years. Levinthal says prohibiting all commissions would be a great danger to fixing the underinsurance issue, although he thinks it could be useful to ban commissions on compulsory superannuation. He notes that commissions are already fairly standardised industry-wide.
