NOTICE TEXT: Department of the Interior Bureau of Indian Affairs BIA - DAPM The Bureau of Indian Affairs intends to award a sole-source firm fixed price purchase order to Summit America Insurance Services for Castastrophic Athletic Injury Insurance for Haskell Indian Nations University(HINU) Sports. HINU has been a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics(NAIA) for nine years. HINU has carried insurance with Summit American for this length of time. It is mandatory to carry catastrophic athletic injury insurance with Summit American Insurance Services LC in order to be a member of NAIA. HINU must belong to NAIA in order to maintain an athletic program. The total value of this intended award is less than the simplified acquisition threshold. The purpose of this procurement is to award based on a sole source requirement. Price quotes are not being requested and written solicitation will not be used. This procurement will be made pursuant to simplified acquisition procedures and Other than Full and Open Competition as authorized by FAR 6.302-1 and FAR 13.501-(a)(2). This notice is neither a request for proposals, nor a solicitation of offers. Any other interested organizations must submit a written statement of their capabilities and qualifications to fulfill this requirement to the identified point of contact as soon as possible, within three days after date of publication. Faxed and e-mailed statements are acceptable; however, the sender(s) shall accept full responsibility to ensure complete transmission and timely receipt. Any such statement of capabilities and qualifications received by the deadline will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
