Beijing Meiri Insurance Agency Co., Ltd., an emerging insurance agency, recently completed first round of financing from WI Harper.
The investment amount is not acknowledgeable at present.
Beijing Meiri was established in August 2009 by Li Yang and Gao Wei and mainly sells life insurance and health insurance via call center and 360bao.com. It has built a top position in Beijing's insurance telemarketing sector.
Li Yang is also the founder of Redbaby, China's largest multi-channel direct sales retailer targeting families via catalogs and e-commerce website with baby products, cosmetics, nutritional supplements and household products. Gao Wei is an insurance telemarketing expert.
Li Yang said the company's financing will enable it to pay more attention to cultivation of professionals and innovation of marketing approaches and technologies.
Wayne Shiong, partner of WI Harper, said China's life insurance market would maintain rapid development with the growing middle-class and fast process of urbanization. He also forecasts China will rank among the world's top five life insurance markets in 2015.
