Insurers languish at Karachi stock exchange last week

Some dull activities witnessed in the insurance stocks last week at the Karachi stock exchange as just around 2.9 million shares were traded together in life and non-life insurance stocks which are about 5 million shares less as compared to a turnover of 8 million previous week. Pak Reinsurance was the volume leader with 2.12 million shares followed by Adamjee Insurance with 0.37 million shares.
Top gainers of the week include Shaheen Insurance which increased by Rs1.89 to close at Rs13.40 and Askari General Insurance was up by Rs1.74 to close at Rs11.54 while Adamjee Insurance was down by Rs2.41 to close at Rs65.26 and New Jubilee Insurance lost Rs1.83 to close at Rs54.37 to be the major losers of the week.
